Father Johnni do Bonfim Silva, C.O.

Fr. Johnni  is an Oratorian priest originally from Brazil who serves the Catholic faithful of Rock Hill and the surrounding communities with dedication, faith, and pastoral care. As a member of the Congregation of the Oratory, he is committed to fostering spiritual growth, strengthening parish communities, and accompanying people on their journey of faith.

Father Johnni earned a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies, with minors in Philosophy and International Studies, from Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina. He later received his Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C.

He currently serves as Parochial Vicar at St. Anne Catholic Church in Rock Hill and Divine Saviour Catholic Church in York. He also serves as Chaplain for Winthrop University, ministering to students through the Rock Hill Oratory’s campus ministry. In addition to his pastoral responsibilities, Father Johnni assists with parish administration as Business Manager, helping oversee parish operations and supporting tuition assistance reviews for St. Anne Catholic School.

Known for his joyful, welcoming spirit, Father Johnni is passionate about proclaiming the Gospel, celebrating the sacraments, and helping others grow in their relationship with Christ. Outside of ministry, he enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and exploring new places, experiences that deepen his appreciation of different cultures and enrich his priestly vocation.

Sarah Gualteros 

Sarah brings over five years of experience in Catholic ministry to the Winthrop campus. She serves as the coordinator of campus ministry for Winthrop. Sarah attended Belmont Abbey for her undergraduate studies and Winthrop for her Masters degree. She has served as a youth minister, elementary and middle school teacher, Latin teacher, and mom to four children. In her free time she drinking or finding the best cup of coffee, baking anything and everything dealing with sourdough, spending time with her family, and learning more about the lives of the saints.
